We are pleased to announce Boathouse Youth, serving Blackpool and Fylde have received a long-term grant.
The Boathouse Youth (The BHY) works with children and young people aged 5-25 from socio-economically deprived communities across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. Our ultimate aim to is break the cycle of deprivation and enable young people to lead their best lives through personal and educational growth.
The BHY was launched in 2009 by a group of young people and, ever since, it has been relentlessly-focussed on being a youth-led organisation - led by people with lived experience of the challenges experienced by Blackpool’s youth.
Our funding supports The Boathouse Youth’s Young Leaders’ Academy and Young Professionals Programme.
“Our mission is to create a world-class youth work infrastructure for Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. One of the strategic aims within this missionis workforce development. There is a national shortage of youth workers and this is felt more profoundly in areas of deprivation such as Blackpool”
