Merseyside Youth Association receives good cause donation

Press Release

MYA delivers a wide range of early intervention, prevention and workforce development across Merseyside.

Its diverse offer to young people includes providing universal services and targeted interventions. It also provides targeted activities for young people aged 11-29 across all areas of Liverpool City Region, including arts, disability and inclusion, mental health promotion and employability programmes.

MYA also has a young person's food bank to support those who live on their own, or who are really struggling, and they then get to hear of other opportunities.

The donation will contribute to the smaller services MYA runs, which promote diversity of awareness and opportunity to young people. Our award will extend MYA’s Nouse music programme to provide music therapy for young people engaged in their employability programme but who are identified as in ‘crisis’.

Noise is a music-making and progression programme, supporting aspiring artists in the region. Noise’s format is 1-2-1 and group work, with activities being outcomes-focused to help young people produce a portfolio of achievements, including original compositions, recordings and videos, with access to events and opportunities throughout the year.
